StreetSmart(c) is a fantastic tool to activate the natural orientation sense with the help of imaginary clocks. The main benefits are a higher awareness for locations, directions, distances and angles and a common language for all nations.
Target groups are children who have learned to read a clock, the blind, those who cant read maps and many others.
It works with GPS and compass and - a worldwide innovation ! - also lets the user know the direction to the centre of town. With this, anyone can guide himself as elegantly as in Rio de Janeiro around the Statue of Christ:
inwards/outwards ( radius comparison )
and
clockwise/counter clockwise (comparison of "hours" or "minutes").
StreetSmart(c) divides cities like a cake into 12 sectors and shows the actual location code acc. to the Munich Orientation Convention. Such codes are better answers to the question "where?" than names, post codes, lat/lon or “here” on maps.
The instructions can be found on www.volksnav.de/StreetSmart.
This trade mark was choosen because street children had no difficulties to understand such location codes: hidden coins have been found on the first attempt.
